Hemp? Don’t you mean Marijuana?

No, I mean Hemp.
Industrial Hemp.
Not Marijuana.

Industrial Hemp and Medical Marijuana both come from the Cannabis Sativa L. plant.  You could say they are cousins from different walks of life.

Here are some of the basic differences between
Hemp and Marijuana:

Medical Marijuana contains the THC cannabinoid, the psychoactive compound responsible for the HIGH.
Industrial Hemp contains a minute trace of THC.

Marijuana contains the healthy cannabinoid called CBD.
Hemp contains a whole lot more CBD than its cousin.

Hemp grows differently than Marijuana.
Hemp looks similar to bamboo.

Marijuana grows to approximately 5 feet tall and are spaced 6 to 8 feet apart.
Hemp grows to 10 to 15 feet tall before they are harvested and are planted 3 to 6 inches apart.

Marijuana has been grown for generations to produce female flowering plants, with budding flowers at the flowering stage of its cycle.
Hemp plants are primarily male, without flowering buds at any stage in their life cycle.

Growing Marijuana is a science in its own, to produce the maximum THC levels wanted.  Most Marijuana growers do so indoors under extremely controlled conditions.
Hemp is best grown outdoors which increases its size and yield.  Less attention is paid to each individual plant.
